Online Dating, Education Marketing & Pickles
When someone decides to enter the world of online dating, the biggest challenge is likely to be, WHERE DO I START?
You COULD just run out and create profiles on the 5 most popular services. Hedge your bets and get in front of as many potential mates as possible. Manage them all, checking in daily for likes or possible connections. Sending messages, reading messages, looking at profiles, adjusting yours, swiping right or left, etc. You could devote half your life just to managing these 5 properties.
You COULD do that. Or you could look at what you are looking for in a mate (customer) and narrow your outreach. Fishing in the pond with the most candidates will likely get you better results. If you are seeking a long term relationship, Grindr may not be the best choice. But if you are a boot scootin' girl, Farmers Only may be a great place to start.
So now you've figured out WHERE to start and it makes it easier to market yourself. And you can focus on the places that make the most sense.
Which brings us to education marketing. Sure. You COULD go out there and make accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat and Instagram. Then you could curate content and write your own and manage all these properties. And then realize you forgot to make a YouTube Channel and didn't that Board Member recently say she thought you needed a Tumblr too?
But it doesn't have to be that way. You can come out from under your desk. Your customers? They may be on all those platforms but it isn't likely. And really? Even if they are, your product may not sell well on all platforms.
So what's a marketing director to do? Consider where your customers are, what they are doing, and then FOCUS your efforts. Don't know how to figure that out? Let us help.
